Tips to maintain your airbrush tan:
Your tan will begin to develop immediately after it's application and in the following hours. It is advisable to wait at least 8-12 hours before showering, if you can wait 12-18 even better! Many people choose to wait until the next day to shower or until late in the evening if tanning early in the day. The optimum amount of time for your tan to develop is up to 24 hours. The more time you allow the DHA to develop on your skin the better!
You will see the cosmetic bronzer washing off in your first shower- this is normal! What you see washing off is only the cosmetic bronzer, added to the tanning solution to make the tan visible when first applied. The tan that has has begun to develop underneath, and continues to develop, from the reaction of the DHA with your skin will remain.
Do not use exfoliating body wash or products following your airbrush tan, this will cause your tan to fade faster. After showering pat (don't rub) dry. Shorter and cooler showers will also aid in prolonging and maintaining your airbrush tan.
Apply a moisturizing body lotion immediately after you shower; while skin is moist is the best time for your skin to absorb added moisture. Continue to moisturize daily. Staying moisturized and keeping your skin hydrated is the best thing you can do to maintain and make your tan last!
